With a rich educational background that spans continents, Dr. Abhishek Kapoor brings a wealth of expertise to Douglas Pike Smiles in Smithfield, Rhode Island. He earned his bachelor’s in dental surgery (BDS) from India in 2004, and further honed his skills through advanced training in the United States. This included completing the International Dentist Degree Program (IDDP) at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Dentistry and an intensive one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Residency at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine (UConn). This comprehensive training equips Dr. Kapoor to deliver top-tier dental care across a wide spectrum of needs.
Dr. Kapoor’s commitment to community service and dental education is evident in his diverse professional journey. As the former Dental Director at Thundermist Health Center of Woonsocket, he led initiatives to provide essential dental care to underserved populations. Currently, Dr. Kapoor serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of New England (UNE) College of Dental Medicine, nurturing the next generation of dental professionals, and as Adjunct Assistant Clinical Faculty at the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI), where he guides dental hygiene students in delivering exceptional care. Additionally, completing the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS) Leadership Institute underscores his dedication to continuous growth and leadership within the dental field.
